John Burns

John is Professor of Management & Accountancy at Exeter University, where he has worked since 2010. Previously, he has held positions at the universities of Dundee, Colorado (USA), and Manchester. Broadly, John’s research interest is in understanding and theorising both continuity and change in organisations. His work is qualitative, and usually takes the form of theoretically-informed case studies, frequently drawing on institutional theory. He is the co-Editor of the journal ‘Qualitative Research in Accounting and Management’ (Emerald Publishers), and the founder of the ‘European Network for Organisational and Accounting Change’ (ENROAC).
